At the end of February we found out the new Michelin stars in Germany for 2019. As regards three-star restaurants, these remain the same, with a total of 10 restaurants. The new developments can be found amongst the two-star restaurants and the establishments that have added a first “macaron” to their restaurant.
New restaurants in Germany with two Michelin stars
Christian Eckhardt’s restaurant can be found in the city of Andernach, between Cologne and Frankfurt. Purs has only been around for one year but offers solid, harmonious cuisine. The chef’s virtue lies in his ability to successfully mix seemingly incompatible ingredients. Purs is balance in the form of gastronomy.
Chef Christoph Rainer’s food has been described as light French cuisine. Despite this, Rainer also includes Japanese aromas and techniques on Luce d’Oro’s menu to captivate his diners.
Close to the city of Nuremberg is the restaurant Sosein, which offers cuisine under the command of chef Felix Schneider. His cuisine appeals directly to the emotions and respect for food, producers and the seasons.
Alexander Herrmann by Tobias Bätz
The restaurant belonging to Alexander Herrmann and Tobias Bätz themselves offers creative cuisine with vegetarian options where the wine pairing never fails.
Ox & Klee
Chef Daniel Gottschlich, apart from offering simple, accessible cuisine, offers an experience that satisfies but doesn’t overwhelm, with more vegetables and less carbohydrates, always seeking the ideal level of cooking of fish and seafood and using spices delicately and exquisitely.
